Palo Alto Art Center Fall 2010 Exhibits

October 18th, 2010 by admin

For Fall 2010, the Palo Alto Art Center will be displaying three exciting exhibits, running from Sept. 25 through Dec. 12, 2010, for all to enjoy.

So what can you expect to see? Their website gives an excellent summary of the three compelling exhibits :

In Focus: Collecting Photography showcases the unique character of, and stories behind, four diverse photography collections formed by art professionals who live in the Bay Area. Light from the Underground is a photographic essay by Colette Campbell-Jones based on communal memories collected from miners and families in South Wales. Paintings from Haiti presents selections from the collection of Dr. Ralph S. Greco. Many of the paintings make palpable the invisible powers of belief that have sustained a culture through centuries of adversity.

As covered in an earlier post, the Art Center is scheduled to undergo a significant remodel and renovation. In order to facilitate this transformation, the Palo Alto Art Center Foundation is kicking off a community-wide “Where Art Transforms” capital campaign to raise the funds necessary to renovate the Art Center. This project recently received two generous gifts from Ann Bowers and the Packard Foundation and is very close to its funding requirements .

Altaire loves all that Palo Alto has to offer and we are very excited to see the proposed renovations to the Palo Alto Art Center become a reality.
