Video Tour Our New 1 Bedroom Model!

At long last, Altaire has a one-bedroom option again. This thoughtfully planned, single-level floor plan features (2) walk-in closets and is offered in our new phase release. JCC June Calendar

We are very fortunate to have the JCC as a neighbor at Altaire. Besides their incredible recreational facilities, they have a variety of cultural and entertainment venues each week. From discussions, classes, and workshops to live concerts and book club events, and even a friendly game of bunco -there is something for everyone to enjoy. Don’t forget! Altaire offers new homeowners a 1-year membership to the OFJCC, just steps from your front door.

Project Read at Hobee’s in Town & County Village

Dine out on June 10, have a wonderful meal and help someone in need. Dine at Hobee’s on June 10 and support Project Read, a free Adult Literacy program.

On June 10th, Hobee’s will donate 20% of their proceeds to Adult Read when patrons dine at their establishment. All you have to do is print, pick up or bring a digital copy of the flyer below (click on the image below to enlarge flyer for printing) and present it while dining. Please note that the flyer is required.

Project Read-Menlo Park is a free Adult Literacy program inside the Menlo Park Library. Volunteer tutors are trained to work one-to-one with adults to help them improve reading, writing and pronunciation skills in English.

We are conveniently located on the Peninsula in beautiful Palo Alto and just so happen to be within one of the top school districts in the State of California!

In October, 2009 we shared an article by Chris Kenrick from Palo Alto Online: Palo Alto fourth in state among K-12 districts.

“On California’s basic measure of academic achievement, the California Standards Tests (CST) in English and math, 85 percent of Palo Alto second- through eighth-graders scored “advanced” or “proficient.” More than 50 percent scored “advanced.”  Read Full Article

Happy Memorial Day

A bit of history behind Memorial Day. Originally called “Decoration Day”, the national holiday began in 1865 as a way to honor fallen Union soldiers of the Civil War. Memorial Day, as we celebrate it today, has become an occasion to honor fallen American soldiers from all wars.

Today, we recognize and honor their service and sacrifice in a number of different ways, from reverent to celebratory. Some gather with loved ones and family for parades and bbq, while others visit local bay area memorial sites to pay their respects. A list of bay area memorial day events can be found here.

Happy Memorial Day from the Altaire Team. As a reminder, we will be closed today in observance of the holiday.

Harvard Near Stanford

It’s true, that’s really the name of our new 2-bedroom. Perhaps an East-coast transplant with a sense of humor had the role of naming our new phase plans!

Life on the Peninsula: Maker Faire 2010

Science and Art collide at what has become one of the most popular events in the Bay Area, The Maker Faire.

What is Maker Faire?  Maker Faire is a newfangled fair that brings together science, art, craft and engineering plus music in a fun, energized, and exciting public forum. The aim is to inspire people of all ages to roll up their sleeves and become makers. This family-friendly event showcases the amazing work of all kinds of makers – anyone who is embracing the DIY spirit and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience.*

More than 600 exhibits will be on display at the fifth annual Maker Faire Bay Area, which will be held this coming Saturday and Sunday, May 22 and 23, at the San Mateo County Event Center. The Faire will be open Saturday from 10am – 8pm and Sunday 10am – 6pm.  Children under 3 are free. According to the organizers, O’Reilly Media, the event this year will likely draw more than 70,000 attendees.

Altaire New Release Peaks Global Interest

A local Chinese television station, Chinese NTDTV channel 32, recently did a piece on the success we’ve had at our new home community – Altaire. Check out this interview with Kim, our sales manager, at the new release event on May 1. Although the economy has not shown significant improvement, U.S. new home sales in March increased by 27%, the highest in the most recent 50 years。For example, Palo Alto new homes sales remains hot because of its great school district and living environment here in the Bay Area.

The Altaire townhome community was developed by the Regis Homes building company. During this weekend’s new release, three new homes were sold. Altaire is close to Freeway 101, convenient transportation, nearby shopping centers, adjacent to Stanford University, in the Palo Alto School District, and is the ideal location for many home buyers. Obviously the Palo Alto real estate market remains the hot spot for the Bay Area home buyers.
